The role:

As a Frontend Web Developer at ClickUp, you’ll be a key contributor to our public-facing web properties, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience while driving organic growth through technical SEO initiatives. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to work closely with our SEO and blog teams, taking ownership of maintaining and enhancing our WordPress platform and contributing to broader web development initiatives across the company. This role offers a unique blend of frontend development, WordPress expertise, and direct impact on our marketing and user acquisition strategies.

What you’ll do:

Build and enhance user experiences: Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript, and PHP, ensuring optimal performance and accessibility.

Champion technical SEO: Collaborate closely with our SEO team to understand and implement technical SEO support across our web properties, directly impacting organic search visibility.

Master WordPress development: Take ownership of our WordPress platform, extending functionality and meet specific business needs for our blog.

Maintain and innovate: Proactively maintain and enhance our WordPress blog platform and related systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.

Support data-driven decisions: Collaborate with teams to implement and support A/B testing, contributing to data-informed optimization of our web presence.

Ensure quality and compatibility: Guarantee cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness across all web projects.

Write high-quality code: Produce clean, well-documented, and maintainable code, adhering to team standards and best practices.

Leverage AI and large language models (LLMs): programmatically generate, review, and enhance content and develop AI-enabled content workflows, enhancing efficiency and innovation across web projects.

Troubleshoot and resolve: Effectively debug and resolve issues within existing web applications and the WordPress platform.

What you’ll bring:

Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in frontend web development.

WordPress and PHP proficiency: Solid understanding of WordPress development and architecture, including custom plugin development.

WordPress Infrastructure: Working knowledge of wordpress database management and plugin architecture

SEO acumen: A solid understanding of technical SEO principles and practical experience implementing SEO recommendations.

Frontend mastery: Proven ability to build responsive and accessible web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript / TypeScript.

Problem-solving skills: A proactive and analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.

Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.

AI tools experience: Hands-on experience using AI-enabled tools and toolchains (e.g., Cursor) to enhance development workflows.

Version control: Proficiency with Git and related version control workflows.

Bonus points:

Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).

Experience with NodeJS and NextJS

Familiarity with headless Headless CMS and Headless WordPress concepts

Experience with experimentation platforms

Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.

Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio showcasing relevant work.

USA Salary Range (OTE): $130,000 USD – $165,000 USD
