About The Team
FinPay is a data ingestion pipeline built by a small team and shifting to a dispersed ownership model across multiple Payments teams. During the length of this contract, you will be embedded in a Platform team and helping drive the FinPay transition, working alongside a manager, several stakeholders in Engineering and Analytics, and a cohort of engineers with familiarity in the space.
About The Role
This is a short-term role in which you will be responsible for FinPay KTLO work.
Address emergent issues from vendors and stakeholders that require updates to data ingestion code
Pair with engineering partners on additions to the pipeline, helping identify best practices and patterns
Identify and implement opportunities for automation and runbooks to reduce maintenance activities moving forward
Identify and implement opportunities for alerting so that we can get ahead of issues with data pipelines
Tackle other KTLO responsibilities outside of the FinPay space
Approximately 30-40% of the role involves working with stakeholders and manager to understand the footprint of the project and stakeholder needs and ideate on process improvements. The remainder of time would be spent on coding and implementation.

Must-Haves

Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation, runbooks, and communication with stakeholders
PHP experience or ability to ramp very quickly
SQL proficiency
Experience identifying and automating routine tasks

This role will support the team while an admin is on leave.
This role is open to remote, flex, or on-site (Brooklyn).
This role may extend, depending on the needs of the team, budget availability, and contractor performance.
Our team is largely based on the East Coast. We’d expect you to be available between 10-4 ET, with other hrs flexible.
Interview process will consist of a 30-45 min manager screen, followed by a 30-min technical assessment (technical deep dive and coding exercise) with 1-2 members of the hiring team. The technical assessment will focus on PHP and SQL proficiency
