Position Summary:
As a Software Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and managers to build high-quality, innovative, and performant software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
$74,955 to $138,744 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$68,141 to $126,131 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
$61,327 to $113,518 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)
The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Develop a strong understanding of relevant product areas, codebases, and systems.
Write high-quality code for simple scenarios with good test coverage.
Assist with any application system support needs.
Participate in design and code reviews of applications to ensure best practices, adherence to Mercury standards, and high quality.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other related fields Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science
Experience:
Minimum
Up to 2 years experience in programming software.
Preferred:
6 or more months of experience with Java
6 or more months of experience with manual and automation testing (example: Selenium)
Familiarity with AI
Skills:
Minimum:
Experienced in programming in one or more industry-standard languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript).
Knowledgeable in leveraging various data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Familiar with relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills. Good communication abilities.
Capable of working independently on simple tasks.
Ability to collaborate and influence team members to address impediments and deliver desired results.
Preferred:
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
