About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) to join our Engineering team supporting the Sony Engagement Platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing test automation frameworks and tools that ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our platform capabilities. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to design and implement automated testing solutions for both front-end and back-end components. Your expertise will help identify automation opportunities, contribute to test strategies, and support continuous integration and deployment practices. This position is ideal for someone passionate about test automation, quality-driven development, and delivering exceptional user experiences across a diverse portfolio of Sony applications. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and scalability of our platform, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of users worldwide.
Qualifications

3+ years of experience in UI, API, and end-to-end testing, including test case design and automation for web applications
1+ years of experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, REST Assured, TestNG, Selenium, Webdriver.io, or Playwright
Proficiency in programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#
Experience with build automation tools and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins
Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) tools like Cucumber or Gherkin is a plus
Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ownership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with testing commerce and payment solutions is advantageous
Experience testing mobile applications is a plus
Educational background with a BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience working at scale
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust automation scripts to validate key features and prevent regressions in the platform
Build scalable test frameworks supporting functional, integration, and regression testing to enable rapid validation cycles
Develop comprehensive API testing frameworks for microservices, including mocking external services, databases, and dependencies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, including engineering, architecture, product, and operations
Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively implement automation solutions to enhance overall quality
Integrate automated testing into build pipelines and CI/CD workflows to ensure continuous quality delivery
Ensure applications are tested from an end-user perspective, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences
Participate in code reviews, testing strategy discussions, and contribute to best practices in test automation
