Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is on a mission to create the best online sportsbook in the industry, and we’re looking for a Software Engineer I, Full Stack to help us get there.

As a Software Engineer I at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will help usdevelop, implement, test, and maintain scalable, high quality, low latency systems that help us deliver the best experience possible to our customers. Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings Inc., a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to nearly 93% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing, testing, documenting and deploying high quality software into production
Shadow and eventually participate in the on-call rotation and assists where possible with troubleshooting software issues
Escalate when tasks or projects hit roadblocks
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
Participate and contribute to sprint planning discussions
Develop a fundamental understanding of our industry, product, feature set, and roadmap
Remain current on the latest technologies and trends in software development
Must be open to occasional travel to Fanatics Betting & Gaming offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities

Required Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
1+ years of experience with full-stack development (Java and React)
Good understanding of Spring & React frameworks and microservices
1+ years working with agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology
Good understanding of software development concepts and programming languages gained through education, training or self-learning
Able to effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, non-technical functional leaders)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
You have an agile mindset; able to embrace new initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Team-first mentality, with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and a desire to strive for better
Demonstrate strong ownership over tasks and deliverables, proactively driving work to completion without needing constant direction
Actively seek answers to questions through documentation, experimentation, and collaboration before escalating issues
Take initiative to identify and remove blockers, leveraging available tools and resources to stay productive
Display a problem-solving mindset—approaching challenges with curiosity and persistence rather than waiting for instruction

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a start-up environment
Intellectually curious and interested in solving difficult problems
Able to effectively work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location). In addition to base salary, bonus, and equity, full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid time off, and other benefits like GymPass, Pet Insurance, Family Care Benefits, and more. We’ll also give you $700 to set up your home office!
