About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Full-stack Software Developer to join our agile development team. This entry-level to mid-level position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance. The successful candidate will work on a variety of enterprise tools that serve a large user base of approximately 200,000 end users. The role requires a collaborative mindset, strong technical skills in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. On-site presence is required at least one day per week, and candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Dahlgren, VA. The position offers a chance to grow within a supportive environment that emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and professional development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Understanding of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
High level of initiative, self-motivation, and eagerness to learn new skills and tools.
Experience working within Agile methodologies and familiarity with Scrum practices.
Ability to work towards goals and meet established timelines.
Detailed project experience during academic or related work, including paid or unpaid projects.
Residency within a commutable distance to Dahlgren, VA, with a minimum of one day per week on-site work requirement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Learning and understanding a diverse set of corporate enterprise tools utilizing both legacy and modern technologies.
Collaborating with development teams and product managers to conceptualize and develop innovative software solutions.
Designing and building engaging, responsive front-end interfaces with attention to visual appeal and user experience.
Conducting thorough testing to ensure applications are responsive, efficient, and meet quality standards.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues within existing applications to improve functionality and user satisfaction.
Representing the team at customer meetings when required, effectively communicating technical solutions and project status.
Participating actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Scrum activities to ensure project momentum.
Providing technical assistance and support to team members and end-users, fostering a collaborative environment.
Engaging in end-user outreach and training to maximize the effectiveness of deployed applications.
