About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Data Infrastructure team. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of CoreWeave’s data platform. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining storage and compute systems that support enterprise analytics and AI workloads. You will own critical components such as our data lake and clustered compute environments, develop observability and performance frameworks, and ensure that our data infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and self-healing. This position is ideal for engineers passionate about building reliable distributed systems at scale, with a keen interest in optimizing data infrastructure to support cutting-edge AI and data science initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and continuous improvement of our systems will be key aspects of your role, contributing directly to the company’s mission of democratizing data access and enabling innovative AI solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Helm, with a strong understanding of container orchestration and distributed systems.
At least 3+ years of programming experience in Go, Rust, Python, C++, C#, or Java.
3+ years of scripting experience in Python or Bash for automation and operational tooling.
Solid understanding of data storage, distributed compute, and service reliability principles.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Grafana.
Experience administering scaled deployments of Spark, Ray, Kafka, Flink, or similar technologies on Kubernetes is preferred.
Familiarity with large-scale observability and performance frameworks is a plus.
Proven ability to implement automation for deployment, monitoring, and capacity management.
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building reliable, scalable distributed systems.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain storage and compute systems that support enterprise analytics and AI workloads.
Own and optimize the data lake and clustered compute environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
Develop observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
Implement automation for deployment, capacity planning, and operational tasks to improve system reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with data science, DevOps, and security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with organizational needs and security standards.
Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning to support scaling efforts.
Maintain documentation of system architecture, operational procedures, and best practices.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve the data platform.
