Software Developer – Remote USA at Braintrust

This role is remote but will be required to visit the office in Birmingham, Michigan (Detroit, MI area) on a per need basis.

Role Description:

We are looking for a versatile Software Developer with a blend of legacy and modern technical expertise. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with older technologies such as classic ASP, while also bringing proficiency in modern development tools and environments. The role involves analyzing legacy codebases, contributing to web development projects, and supporting cloud and container-based deployments.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and reverse engineer existing classic ASP applications.
Write and optimize SQL queries for MS SQL Server databases.
Collaborate on front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Support systems running on Linux, including basic scripting and troubleshooting.
Leverage modern tools like Git, Node.js, AWS, and Docker to develop and deploy applications.

Requirements:

Experience with classic ASP or a willingness to learn and work with legacy systems.
Strong skills in SQL and experience with MS SQL Server.
Proficiency in front-end technologies including web design, CSS, and JavaScript.
Basic experience with Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with modern development tools including Git, Node.js, AWS, and Docker.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and refactor legacy codebases.
