About the Opportunity:
The organization is developing a super app to help users manage car and home ownership, streamlining processes from insurance to repairs. The role involves joining a remote-first, global engineering team focused on building impactful systems that directly improve user experience and business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain systems powering customer onboarding, shopping, and end-to-end purchase flows for car, home, and motorcycle insurance marketplace products.
• Work on high-visibility initiatives, including developing new pre-sale flows for products from scratch.
• Address technical debt, resolve inconsistencies and bugs, and contribute to tech stack refactoring across the end-to-end shopping flow.
• Support multiple teams and initiatives in parallel while prioritizing high-impact work for user conversion and revenue.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to enhance conversion, automation, and overall user experience.
• Contribute to both frontend (React/React Native) and backend (Node.js, Nest.js) systems, integrating across multiple teams.
• Work asynchronously across time zones, participate in daily standups, and maintain strong communication through Asana and Slack.
Requirements:
• At least 1 year (including internships) for SDE I, or 3+ years for SDE II, building production-grade software, ideally full stack with some frontend exposure.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems, break them down into actionable code, and iterate quickly.
• Ownership of end-to-end outcomes and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working asynchronously with a global team and excellent communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, explore new tools, and adapt to understand the bigger picture.
