About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer III (WordPress) to join our dynamic team on a contractual basis for 12 months. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin creation, and a strong understanding of PHP and JavaScript. This role involves supporting client-branded web properties, enhancing site performance, and ensuring security and maintainability at scale. The Web Developer will play a crucial role in translating stakeholder requirements into robust technical solutions, implementing an AI-first development workflow, and maintaining high standards of code quality through reviews and documentation. This is a remote opportunity based in the US, offering the chance to work on innovative projects with a global team.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have proven experience in WordPress development, with a solid background in PHP and JavaScript. They should have hands-on experience building custom themes and plugins from scratch, demonstrating proficiency in HTML/CSS with accessibility and maintainability best practices. Knowledge of WordPress hooks, PHP APIs, the block editor, and REST API is essential. The candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tasks independently in high-pressure environments. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred qualifications include experience with WordPress VIP or enterprise-scale hosting, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code review workflows, and performance optimization tools.

Responsibilities

The Web Developer III will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing WordPress site features using JavaScript and PHP.
