About The Role

The Web Developer role at Edward Don & Company is a vital position responsible for supporting and enhancing the company’s eCommerce platform. This role involves providing in-house analytical and programming support to ensure the seamless operation of the company’s public website. The Web Developer will work closely with the eCommerce Project Leader and the Application Development team to troubleshoot, develop, and maintain web applications and SQL-based systems. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of web technologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the website’s functionality, security, and user experience meet the company’s standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

Required minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, and physical obligations:

Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery.
Solid understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, work within deadlines, and operate independently or collaboratively to meet organizational goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to foster strong, open communication channels across all levels of the organization.
Adherence to Edward Don & Company’s standards of conduct and professional policies.

Preferred Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Education/training, Experience, And Physical Obligations

Additional coursework or project experience in Microsoft .NET, SQL, and JavaScript technologies.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to troubleshoot, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating problem-solving capabilities and initiative.

Responsibilities

Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug existing web code and programs to ensure optimal performance and security.
Develop and code new features and functionalities in authorized programming languages, adhering to company standards and specifications.
Assist in designing small to medium-sized system projects under supervision, contributing to planning and implementation phases.
Create and execute test plans, including preparing test data, to validate the accuracy and functionality of programs.
Document all programs and system modifications according to installation and operational standards.
Provide on-call support on a rotational basis to address urgent website or system issues promptly.
Maintain ongoing communication with the Project Leader and team members regarding project status, issues, and updates.
Complete administrative and reporting requirements related to project activities and system support.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the department’s goals and initiatives.
