About The Role

We are seeking a talented Short Form Video Editor who specializes in vertical video content to join our creative team. This role involves transforming long-form footage such as interviews, behind-the-scenes, podcasts, and other long content into engaging, high-retention clips optimized for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The ideal candidate will excel at creating captivating hooks within the first few seconds, maintaining viewer engagement, and encouraging follows and shares. This position requires a fast-paced, detail-oriented approach, with a keen eye for pacing, storytelling, and platform-specific trends. You will work closely with producers and social strategists to deliver polished, platform-ready content on tight deadlines, contributing to the growth and engagement of our digital channels.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2+ years of experience editing short-form vertical video content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro as the primary editing tool.
Strong understanding of hook-first storytelling and platform-specific pacing.
Experience in audio editing fundamentals including denoising, EQ, compression, and loudness normalization.
Ability to design and style subtitles suitable for vertical formats.
Familiarity with current social media trends, memes, sounds, and editing styles.
Excellent time management skills and reliability in a remote work environment.
Portfolio or reel demonstrating vertical video edits, with accessible links (TikTok/Reels/Shorts preferred).
Comfort with collaborative tools such as Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, Frame.io, and Asana.

Responsibilities

Edit 3-5+ short-form clips weekly from long-form footage, ensuring quick turnaround times, sometimes on the same day.
Create compelling cold opens, trims, and pacing tailored specifically for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts audiences.
Incorporate on-brand captions, motion graphics, callouts, emojis, and SFX to enhance engagement.
Mix and enhance audio quality, including dialogue cleanup and balancing music and SFX.
Perform basic color correction and matching to ensure visual consistency across clips.
Version content for various aspect ratios such as 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9, exporting platform-ready files with proper codecs and loudness standards.
Organize project files systematically, including labeled exports, thumbnails, and metadata.
Collaborate with team members, take feedback, and implement revisions promptly.
Maintain organized workflows using Dropbox, Drive, and adhere to file naming conventions.
Participate in regular team check-ins via Zoom and Slack for planning and feedback sessions.
