Business Intelligence Consultant

Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with the Product Team to identify and gather detailed business requirements. Creates technical documentation, clarifies, interprets and translates specifications as required in order to develop an appropriate data information solution.
Performs data quality checks.
Provides and communicates recommendations on results/findings on reviews and research. Tracks the results of implemented recommendations for progress and impact.
Makes data-based recommendation based on appropriate measures (standard health plan measures, physician group contract measures, financial outcomes, improvement of health, value based contracts, etc.)
Writes and interprets moderately complex SQL queries for standard as well as ad-hoc data mining.
Works to implement customer dashboards for critical success metrics reporting and tracking on programs and implementation.
Reviews, manipulates, and extracts data from a variety of relational databases.
Translates business and product requirements into actionable technological steps.
Familiar with industry standard data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Lookr, etc.
Has a basic understanding of data modeling, including how to define relationships, understanding the ‘grain’ of data, and how to optimize data for reporting.
A basic understanding of Ai and/or Python tools is a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelors in related field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, etc.) or equivalent
3+ years of relevant experience in healthcare data analytics or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
Ability to utilize analytics tools including SQL, Tableau, Lookr, and/or open-source tools including Python and R, or other similar tools
Experience with SQL query writing with good knowledge in SQL programming
Aptitude for analytical thinking and demonstrated data skills
Demonstrated ability to work with large data and to reach recommendations and conclusions from reviews
Working knowledge of the Healthcare Domain and healthcare data
Ability to learn new technologies, and contribute to areas such as infrastructure, administration, and project management with ease
Good understanding of data model approaches to be able to discuss the pros/cons of each with our clients and data architects and create business requirements
Good project management skills including the ability to own projects end-to-end while being responsible for developing all aspects of a report
Preferred
Experience in healthcare or population health sector
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

The hiring range for this position is:
$72,800.00-$97,400.00
