Frontend Developer at Mercor

Job Description

We are looking for a Web Developer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.

Your expertise in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, frameworks, server-side logic, and API integration will ensure each prompt and response is technically accurate and aligned with modern web development practices. We welcome front-end, back-end, or full-stack developers with experience in building real-world applications to help train AI models that understand the structure, logic, and interactivity of the web.

You are a good fit if you:

Have over 3+ years of industry experience in web development
Have a bachelor’s degree in web development, computer science, or related field.
Have a strong background in one of the following –
HTML5, CSS3 and modern Javascript
Frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular
Restful API integration and development
Version control and deployment
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have strong attention to details

Preferred Qualification

Full stack experience or specialized expertise in either front end or back end technologies.

Role Highlights

Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Role Start Date

This role will begin in early to mid-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in web development and software architecture
You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a web development topic.
You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Compensation and Legal Details

You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
