ALSAC’s Program offers an immersive experience where interns experience our culture, contribute to organization’s goals through projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. During the summer internship, interns are assigned to a day-to-day manager where they are with provided meaningful assignments. ALSAC/St.Jude was selected as the 100 best internship programs in the U.S. in 2022 by WayUp and Yello.

End Date: January 2026
Hours: 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: Based on work location
Work Location: Headquarters Office in Memphis, TN or Remote

Requirements:
A passion for our mission!
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.
Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
The Data Central Office exists to help ALSAC treat data as a strategic asset. To support this effort, our office is comprised of Data & Analytics Enablement and Data Science & Insights teams that strive to make data fit for purpose. We provide actionable information that drives decision-making across the enterprise through statistical modeling and comprehensive data storytelling. We also leverage internships to scale our impact as we work closely with our business partners.
This is a highly sought-after position. Anyone who is awarded this position will be expected to contribute to team projects while maintaining their current educational load.
Key Tasks Include:
Guided activities: Support data-related projects by
Identifying user needs
Collecting data
Performing data analysis
Visualizing insights and deliver to customer using Storytelling skills
Ensuring documentation is in the enterprise data catalog as appropriate
Provide recommendations for process improvements regarding data analysis and research related to activities above.
Engage cross-functional stakeholders to understand user requirements and ensure data accuracy and availability. This could include ITS, Legal, InfoSec, Marketing, Business Partners, etc.
Perform data cleaning and data wrangling for analysis and analytics modelling.
Skills Required:
Comfort in presenting to executive level team members; good communication and storytelling skills
Data management and analytic skills with attention to detail
Collaboration, organization, and time management skills
Eager to contribute & not shy about sharing thoughts with the team
Experience with technologies and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Python are a plus. Exposure to M/L and statistical analysis is also a plus but not required.
Qualifications
Preferred majors: computer or data science, statistics, or management information systems, or other related majors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint), SQL Server
Majors preferred: Business Administration, MIS, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science
Technical Skills Required: SQL & Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred: Python, Tableau & Data Catalog
