Job Description
Elevate is recruiting a full-time Editor to join our Med Legal team. As the full-time Editor, you will be responsible to monitor the daily queue to ensure reports are delivered timely and to provide support to the contract editing team. You will also review previously edited reports for completion, formatting, and correctness. This position will report to the Managing Editor and provide support for other editorial and administrative tasks as needed.
Med Legal produces reports containing confidential medical and billing information. The Editing Team is responsible for ensuring proper grammar, formatting, branding, and content of these reports.
The Editor must work the hours of 9am-6pm PST.
Specifically, the Editor will
Monitor a daily queue of 30+ reports per day.
Support contract editors by advising on editing questions.
Complete final editorial review of reports.
Provide feedback to peers.
Compile PDFs and create internal hyperlinks.
Coordinate notarization of legal affidavits.
Coordinate with Operations teams.
Archive documents in online CMS.
Edit reports as needed.
Complete other projects and tasks as assigned.
Experience
Previous professional employment experience required.
Professional writing and/or editing experience highly preferred, or equivalent academic experience.
Skills for Success
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback to and from peers.
Independently motivated.
Attention to detail.
Critical thinking skills are a must.
Ability to learn quickly is essential.
Technical Skills
Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Familiarity with Adobe Professional, Outlook, and video conferencing.
Quickbase navigation (once demonstrated).
Qualifications
2- or 4- year degree preferred.
Compensation
The pay rate for this remote-based role is $25/hour. In addition, Elevate offers full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package and PTO.
