About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff or Principal Front-End Engineer to take ownership of the front-end development across our client-facing platform. This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of secure, high-performance, and intuitive user interfaces such as dashboards, reporting tools, and administrative views. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in React and modern front-end technologies, with a focus on privacy-first, accessible, and responsive UI design. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to deliver impactful solutions that directly influence user safety and privacy.
This is a highly impactful position that requires a detail-oriented, security-minded approach. You will mentor junior engineers, define scalable front-end architecture, and incorporate AI-assisted tools into the development process, emphasizing rigorous testing and error handling to prevent unintended behaviors. Qualifications
5+ years of front-end development experience at the Staff level or 8+ years at the Principal level
Advanced proficiency with React, including React Hooks, component architecture, and state management libraries such as Redux or Zustand
Strong expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience in performance optimization and testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library
Experience designing interactive UI patterns including forms, real-time updates, and animations
Familiarity with AI tools for prototyping and UI testing (e.g., Claude, Cursor), with an understanding of their limitations
Experience integrating REST APIs into front-end applications
Deep knowledge of web accessibility and usability principles, including WCAG and Section 508 standards
U.S. residency is required
Proven experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
Responsibilities
Lead the development of privacy-first, accessible, and responsive user interfaces using React
Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience
Mentor and guide a small team of engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence
Define, maintain, and evolve scalable front-end architecture and best practices
Utilize AI-assisted tools for rapid prototyping, testing error handling, and edge case management
Implement and uphold rigorous testing strategies to ensure robustness and security of the UI
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and usability best practices
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning to drive continuous improvement
