About The Role

We are seeking a talented Product Engineer to join our innovative team working on Reddit Answers, our new AI-powered search experience. This role is primarily focused on developing and scaling products within the web platform, which is Reddit’s largest and most impactful interface. As a Product Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Machine Learning, and Data Science to create compelling, user-centric features. You will have the opportunity to work across the entire stack, contributing to experiments, product development, and strategic initiatives that directly influence hundreds of millions of users globally. This position offers a remote-friendly environment, with a preference for candidates aligned with U.S. time zones.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript or relevant languages
Proficiency with front-end frameworks such as React and server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js
Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals and web performance optimization
Experience translating data and user feedback into meaningful product features
Familiarity with other programming languages such as Python and Go
Knowledge of software engineering best practices including unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Strong product sense with the ability to interpret customer needs into innovative solutions

Responsibilities

Ideate, design, develop, and deploy experiments and features that reach millions of users and align with our product vision
Collaborate with product managers and designers to craft engaging, user-focused experiences
Contribute insights and help shape team strategies to ensure alignment with overall objectives
Participate actively in product reviews and team discussions, providing technical perspectives and helping to scope, estimate, and prioritize tasks
Mentor peers and foster a high-quality engineering culture focused on excellence in both functionality and user experience
Ensure code quality through best practices such as testing, reviews, and thorough documentation
Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve product offerings
