About The Role

At Hinge Health, the Software Engineer role is pivotal in developing and maintaining a seamless member journey through collaborative, cross-functional teams. As a frontend-leaning full-stack engineer, you will primarily focus on designing fast, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces using React. Your role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features that enhance user experience and ensure consistency with our design system. You will also contribute to backend services by interacting with Node/NestJS GraphQL APIs, shaping or extending them as needed. The position emphasizes ownership, from crafting new features and improving existing ones to addressing technical debt and supporting live site operations. The team operates within a hybrid work environment, embracing a DevOps culture that prioritizes continuous deployment, operational excellence, and high security standards aligned with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and CCPA. Your contributions will directly impact the delivery of innovative healthcare solutions that empower members to improve their musculoskeletal health from anywhere.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Minimum of 2+ years of full-time professional frontend software development experience
At least 2+ years of experience working with React
Experience building user-facing features and components
Familiarity with development teams of 5 or more engineers
Knowledge of design systems, storybook-style component libraries, or theming/branding at scale
Understanding of web performance metrics, React rendering patterns, and accessibility standards
Proficiency with modern development tools and practices, including CI/CD, Docker, AWS, and observability tools
Ability to utilize AI tools for team efficiency and quality improvement
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, accessible user interfaces using React
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features
Review code and provide constructive feedback to team members
Debug and troubleshoot both familiar and unfamiliar codebases efficiently
Participate in planning, estimation, and technical decision-making processes
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development workflow and tooling
Utilize observability tools such as New Relic, DataDog, or Sentry to monitor system performance and errors
Take ownership of features post-release, addressing issues proactively and ensuring stability
Engage in team knowledge sharing, spike on new technologies, and explore innovative solutions
