About The Role

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic Creation team based in New York. This role is pivotal in scaling and expanding Patreon’s media publishing capabilities, enabling creators to express their creativity more broadly and effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, performant, and user-centric features that enhance the platform’s functionality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, data scientists, and fellow engineers—to design, develop, and iterate on monetization features that directly impact creator success. Your expertise will help shape the future of media and newsletter creation tools, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and aligned with user needs. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence two days per week, fostering collaboration and community engagement.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in software development
Proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript
Strong backend experience with Python and MySQL
Experience designing and executing A/B tests, analyzing results, and applying insights
Ability to develop end-to-end features across frontend and backend systems
Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
Demonstrated passion for delivering impactful features iteratively and efficiently
Experience working in a product-oriented engineering culture

Responsibilities

Scale and enhance Patreon’s media publishing features to support creator expression
Develop high-quality, performant user experiences optimized for speed and engagement
Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to design and implement monetization features
Lead the development of full-stack features utilizing React, TypeScript, Python, and MySQL
Maintain code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and user empathy in engineering processes
Participate in cross-functional planning, experimentation, and data analysis to inform feature development
