About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to join our Market Development team. This role is integral to supporting our marketing and design activities, ensuring the creation of visually compelling and professionally branded materials that effectively communicate our initiatives and programs. The Graphic Designer will be primarily responsible for developing marketing campaign collateral, presentation graphics, proposal visuals, and educational curricula related to energy efficiency and decarbonization efforts. Working under the guidance of the Marketing Operations Manager and in collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer, Content Specialist, and other team members, the successful candidate will ensure all deliverables meet high standards of quality, branding consistency, and accessibility.
This position requires a proactive individual who thrives on diverse projects, from conceptualization to final production. The role involves visualizing complex technical information in engaging formats, maintaining style guides, managing project timelines, and coordinating with vendors for print and digital outputs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to foster positive relationships across departments and with external partners. This is a hybrid, full-time position based in either San Diego, CA, or Portland, OR, with minimal travel required.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Design, Graphic Design, or related field
Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Deep understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles
Portfolio or personal website showcasing a diverse range of design projects (must be included in application)
Ability to visualize complex technical and scientific data in accessible formats
Experience with print production processes and vendor coordination
Excellent communication, collaboration, and task management skills
Preferred qualifications include photography and image editing skills, knowledge of accessibility standards, video editing experience, and familiarity with motion graphics and animation tools.
Responsibilities
Develop and design marketing materials including logos, illustrations, infographics, social media assets, presentation templates, and curricula
Create visual content such as maps, charts, graphs, and videos to support marketing campaigns and internal communications
Visualize technical and scientific information to engage diverse audiences effectively
Maintain adherence to brand style guides, ensuring consistency across all materials
Review and finalize marketing collateral for quality and compliance with branding standards
Plan, execute, and manage multiple design projects within specified deadlines and budgets
Gather and synthesize client assets and branding elements to develop compelling visual materials
Organize and maintain project files and digital asset libraries for efficiency and reuse
Collaborate with vendors for print and digital production, including placing print orders and managing delivery logistics
Identify opportunities to improve design workflows and project management processes
