About The Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the visual architect responsible for shaping how Stanford’s online and global education initiatives are perceived across various platforms and audiences. Your primary focus will be developing and maintaining visual identities for Stanford Online, the Stanford Center for Global and Online Education, and Stanford Enterprise Education. You will craft compelling marketing assets, ensure brand consistency, and support the organization’s strategic branding efforts.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects—from designing digital campaigns and web prototypes to creating print collateral and executive materials. You will collaborate closely with marketing teams, web designers, and organizational stakeholders, taking creative ownership from concept through execution. The role requires strategic thinking about branding, adaptability to emerging design trends, and the ability to produce authentic, resonant work in an increasingly AI-driven content landscape. This position is eligible for remote work with occasional visits to the Stanford campus, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field
Minimum of three years of professional graphic design experience or equivalent
Proven portfolio demonstrating creative design solutions and versatility
Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and layout
Experience designing for digital platforms, including web, social media, and digital advertising
Ability to develop visual identities, templates, and brand guidelines
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external vendors
Knowledge of industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Awareness of current design trends and emerging technologies
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain visual identity systems for Stanford Online, Stanford Center for Global and Online Education, and Stanford Enterprise Education
Create design guidelines, templates, and assets to ensure brand consistency across all channels
Design marketing materials, including digital campaigns, web prototypes, and print collateral
Produce promotional content to support revenue-generating initiatives and partnerships
Design materials for leadership events, conferences, and speaking engagements to enhance institutional branding
Collaborate with UX/UI teams to develop wireframes and prototypes for web and digital platforms
Develop digital advertising assets across various platforms such as social media, display, and search
Manage projects from initial concept through final delivery, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines
Coordinate with external vendors, print shops, and stakeholders as needed
Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate innovative design solutions
Provide creative input and strategic thinking to enhance brand storytelling and audience engagement
