About the Role
The Software Engineer role develops and maintains scalable, reliable systems to improve digital accessibility at scale. Responsibilities include building web solutions, optimizing performance, and collaborating across Product, Design, and engineering teams.
This role drives measurable impact for end users and customers by delivering high-quality, secure, and efficient software while contributing to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
How you’ll Contribute:
Create customer value, understanding customer needs as well as the needs of the end users benefiting from our technology
Own a problem wherever it takes them, whether across technology stacks, teams, or roles
Build web scale solutions striking a balance between what’s required today and what’s essential long-term
Understand service-oriented architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and end-to-end software delivery
Deliver daily results, biasing for action and iterating to success
Are naturally curious – if they don’t know they will go find out
Work across all layers of the technology stack and product surfaces
Enjoy working with a diverse set of individuals
Create a culture that values quality, standards, and engineering excellence
Work cross-functionally with the design and product teams
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Math, similar field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years industry experience as a software engineer
JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, DOM, CSS, NodeJS
Experience working with open-source technologies
React or equivalent MVVM framework
Relational database technologies, NoSQL technologies, document/object storage
GitHub and general CI/CD pipeline experience
API design and best practices for both internal and external delivery
Familiarity with agile methodologies
Experience building, maintaining, operating, and supporting large-scale SaaS products
Working knowledge of cloud vendors and technologies
Operational and DevOps experience supporting an always-on software service – experience with observability and monitoring
Working knowledge of tooling, methods, and best practices for safely and securely writing, delivering, and operating software products at scale
