About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team within the Marketing organization. This role focuses on developing and maintaining backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support Instacart’s Paid Marketing channels. Operating at the intersection of Marketing, Product, and Engineering, the successful candidate will be instrumental in building scalable technical solutions that enable effective campaign execution, conversion tracking, and third-party integrations across various advertising platforms such as Paid Social, Display, SEM, Online Video, Linear Television, and Streaming Audio. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical implementations, ensuring data accuracy, system reliability, and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex systems that directly impact company growth and marketing efficiency, all while leveraging modern tools and frameworks to drive innovation.

Qualifications

3–5 years of software engineering experience with a strong proficiency in Python for backend development, APIs, and data pipelines.
Experience with data integration technologies including Snowflake, SQL, and ETL processes across multiple data sources.
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and data transformation frameworks like DBT.
Hands-on experience working with third-party APIs and integrations, particularly in marketing or ad tech environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently deliver complete features and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with marketing, product, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting marketing campaign execution, conversion tracking, and third-party integrations.
Design and optimize ETL processes that integrate diverse data sources such as Google Analytics, Snowflake, and third-party ad platforms, ensuring timely and accurate data flow.
Implement end-to-end features with minimal oversight, adhering to secure coding practices and team standards.
Leverage workflow automation tools like Airflow and data transformation frameworks such as DBT to enhance system efficiency and observability through logging and metrics.
Collaborate with marketing teams and external channel providers to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Debug and troubleshoot issues related to ad conversions, data discrepancies, and system performance.
Maintain documentation for developed systems and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and ease of maintenance.
