About the Role

Journey Coffee Co is seeking a Junior Web Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of its websites and web applications. This full-time remote position is suited to an early-career developer who wants to build practical experience across front-end and back-end development.

You will help improve the online customer experience, troubleshoot technical issues, optimize website performance, and develop features that support business needs. Working with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers, you will contribute to web projects while following coding standards and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain website interfaces and web application features.

•Implement responsive and accessible front-end designs that provide a consistent user experience.

•Assist with back-end functionality, server-side logic, data handling, and API integrations.

•Debug website issues and help improve performance and reliability.

•Collaborate with designers, marketing colleagues, and senior developers to turn business requirements into functional web features.

•Participate in code reviews and follow established development practices.

•Maintain technical documentation and contribute to consistent, maintainable code.

•Support website deployment, ongoing maintenance, and improvements to the company’s digital presence.

Required Qualifications

•Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

•Understanding of front-end development and web design, including responsive and accessible user interfaces.

•Basic knowledge of back-end development and at least one back-end language or framework, such as Node.js, Python, or PHP.

•General web development knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and support website maintenance.

•Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative development workflows.

•Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and communicate clearly with colleagues in a remote work environment.

•Relevant coursework, coding bootcamp completion, or practical project experience in web development.

Preferred Qualifications

•A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.

•Experience developing personal, academic, or professional web projects.

•Exposure to API integrations, website optimization, or e-commerce functionality.
