About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Front-end Localization Engineer to join our UI engineering team. This pivotal role involves delivering high-quality, localized user experiences across our SaaS platform by integrating internationalization best practices into our front-end architecture. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in React and modern web technologies to build scalable, multilingual interfaces that function seamlessly across different languages and regions. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and refining our localization processes, ensuring that internationalization is embedded from the outset of product development. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including localization, design, and engineering, to manage localization workflows, validate localized builds, and troubleshoot UI issues related to internationalization. The position offers flexible remote work options for candidates residing in specific US states or a hybrid setup at our offices in Austin, TX, and Tampa, FL.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in front-end or software engineering roles
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, and CSS
Proven experience in localization engineering, including internationalization, adaptive UI, and responsive design principles
Bilingual proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one additional language
Experience developing component-based, reusable UI components using design systems and tools such as Figma and Storybook
Working knowledge of Python, including automation scripting and development workflows
Familiarity with localization workflows and Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools
Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks and best practices in writing effective test cases
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to bridge diverse teams and facilitate cross-departmental cooperation
Self-sufficient, proactive, and capable of managing projects independently from inception to completion
Experience working in fast-paced environments with effective prioritization skills
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain scalable internationalized UI solutions within the React codebase
Integrate localization into React components, manage localization files, and optimize UI architecture for performance and accessibility
Extract, manage, and coordinate translation efforts for UI strings with internal teams and external vendors
Validate localized builds across multiple languages and regions, ensuring translation accuracy and UI consistency
Support localization QA processes, identify and resolve UI, layout, and functional issues related to internationalization
Serve as a primary point of contact for localization-related technical issues across the product
Independently investigate and resolve internationalization and localization issues throughout the UI
Manage localization readiness for product releases, ensuring smooth deployment of localized features
Collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and localization teams to facilitate seamless international user experiences
Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to improve localization workflows and scalability
Participate in cross-functional meetings to align localization strategies with product development goals
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall localization and UI engineering efforts
