A leading AI research initiative is seeking Visual Annotation Experts to contribute to a frontier project aimed at improving how advanced AI systems interpret and understand the visual world.
In this part-time, remote role, you will analyze short video clips and images to produce structured annotations that capture essential scene attributes — including subjects, objects, environments, temporal flow, emotional tone, and storytelling context. Your work will directly support the training of next-generation multimodal AI systems.
Key Responsibilities

Watch and analyze video clips and/or images to extract relevant visual, contextual, and narrative information.
Produce structured annotations describing subjects, environments, actions, and emotional or narrative cues.
Evaluate how visuals convey mood, story progression, and thematic elements.
Apply critical judgment to select the most accurate and nuanced descriptors for each scene.
Document findings clearly and consistently according to project guidelines.
Collaborate asynchronously with project leads to refine annotation quality and methodology.
Ideal Qualifications

Professional or academic background in film production, editing, screenwriting, media studies, or archival work, or equivalent hands-on experience in visual storytelling.
Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to visual detail.
Ability to capture subtle narrative, emotional, or symbolic meaning in scenes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable following structured annotation rubrics and adapting to evolving project requirements.

Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — set your own hours.
Commitment: Up to 40 hours/week (flexible).
Duration: 4–5 weeks minimum, with potential for extension.
