Recent projects include applications that: enable better access to insurance information for patients, enable early diagnosis of debilitating medical conditions with unprecedented accuracy, safely transport special needs schoolchildren, keep skiers safe from avalanches, power the #1 snow sports app, and perform sophisticated geo-spatial and demographic data analysis to make important decisions about capital projects. As a Haskell/Scala Software Engineer at Vynyl, you’ll be working with a group of project managers, producers, designers, and other engineers to build great software and sustainable infrastructure on behalf of our clients. You’ll be responsible for contributing to the overall technical leadership within your team and the firm as a whole. In this role you will Be at the forefront of a complete re-write for an orgination and underwriting platform Design elegant solutions to complex technical problems Champion functional programming at Vynyl and amongst our clients You should join the Vynyl team if you are: A great communicator and collaborator Quality focused Comfortable with change, as each project presents new challenges and opportunities Achievement oriented Requirements Experienced with Scala, Haskell, or Functional Programming Language Proficiency in Python Proficient with relational databases (Postgres, etc.) Familiarity with nosql databases and document stores Experience with event processing or streaming mechanisms (e.g.: AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Flink) Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies like AWS and Kubernetes Proficient in test driven development (TDD) and continuous deployment practices Familiarity with SDLC methodologies especially Agile/Kanban At Vynyl all employees work remotely.
